Biography

My name is David Jordan. I am excited to join the College of Engineering as an Instructional Assistant Professor in General Engineering.
I received my BS in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University in 2016. I attended the University of Pittsburgh from 2016-2021, where I completed my MS and PhD in mechanical engineering. I arrive in Bloomington after spending 4 years at the University of Arizona as a postdoctoral researcher, where I investigated hand and wrist biomechanics and how musculoskeletal disorders can affect those biomechanics. I am teaching the Engineering Programming with MATLAB course this semester. Programming has been a big part of my career and I look forward to introducing the art to our incoming students.
A career in academia has brought me many rewarding experiences, including being able to serve as a mentor to rising engineers and scientists. I look forward to contributing to the missions of teaching excellence and mentorship at ISU to help guide the next generation of great engineers.
